Beloved Community Arts Center (BCAC) Donations

Advent Lutheran will be rolling out an exciting new community arts program to begin on Saturday, August 18, 2018.  It will be a ten-week program that will offer beginning group guitar, hand drumming, and group singing. The inaugural session will culminate in a musical presentation on Saturday, October 20 where students will share what they’ve learned.

The Beloved Community Arts Center’s (BCAC) mission is to join local families in music classes open to all children, regardless of economic standing.  For our initial phase, we will be focusing on children in grades one through eight.

What is The Beloved Community?

We all benefit when we know, respect, help and delight in the people who are our neighbors – and when our neighbors do so for us. We depend upon one another. Our lives are richer when we are amazed by our differences and can learn with one another and from one another. The vision of The Beloved Community comes to life when we live in this way. The Beloved Community overcomes isolation and fear with relationships of care, justice and creativity. The people of Advent Lutheran Church intend to contribute to growing The Beloved Community right here in South County through creating new possibilities for children and youth to create music and other arts together. We believe that when we fail, God’s grace abounds for us and our neighbors to begin again.

How Can You Help?

With a major project such as this, there are always significant startup costs as well as other needs.Click here if you are interested in supporting The Beloved Community Arts Center and would like to make a donation.

As we being our pilot program this Fall, we have will need to provide guitar rentals for our young musicians and drums they can use in class, and these drums can also be used in worship and song in our congregation and community. We have created a wish list below, taking into consideration a balance of quality and reasonable expense.  We wish to create excellence in all aspects of this program and this includes offering excellent quality instruments for our students.

We invite your participation and support in this new venture both through your financial gifts and time. Parents and families are also encouraged to volunteer and shape the BCAC.
