God’s work. Our hands. Sunday

The is a dedicated day of service for Advent Lutheran.  The date for 2017 is Sunday, September 10. We are a church that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work. For 2017, members of the congregation will be making a difference in our community by assembling “We Care Kits” to the homeless in our community.

Quarterly Mission

The Quarterly Mission project was first introduced in 2002 as a way of encouraging members and friends of the Advent Community to get personally involved in supporting a variety of special missions or ministries.

Each quarter of every year, the Staff and Church Council vote on a mission or ministry that is considered worthy of the congregation’s interest, prayer and financial support. The Quarterly Mission can have local, regional or global focus. That ministry is showcased throughout the quarter with Temple Talks, displays, brochures, announcements and guest speakers. The opportunity to financially support that Quarterly Mission is available throughout the three months and beyond.

Community Table

At Advent since 2006, the Community Table in partnership with Martha’s Kitchen is a non profit interfaith project to feed the hungry in our community. A free hot meal is served every Tuesday at 5 P.M. at Advent Lutheran Church in the Berkland Fellowship Hall. All are welcome, no questions are asked and no judgments are made. If you would like to help, please contact the Community Connections Chairperson at community@advent-lutheran.org or call the church office at 408-779-3551.
