Online Worship

Currently, there is no in-person worship or other gatherings being held until restrictive orders are lifted and it is safe to do so.

Sermon Recordings

Scripture read aloud and preaching are for the gathered community, and we hope you can be present with us or your own congregation often. Please use these recordings when you want to re-listen to a sermon, are traveling, ill, or unable to be present in worship. You may also share a particular sermon with friends and family.

Outdoor Communion Services

You are invited to participate in a brief (10 minute) communion distribution service at Advent the first Sunday of the month. You may come at any of these times: 11:00 AM, 11:15 AM, 11:30 AM and 11:45 AM. Please park in the back parking lot and wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth the whole time (except when you are eating or drinking the bread and wine or grape juice). A greeter will take your name and an altar guild member will hand you the prepackaged and sealed communion elements. Ushers will invite you to stand at least 6-8 feet apart from everyone except those in your household or pandemic “bubble.” There will be chairs for those who need to sit. We know it is tempting to get close to and shake hands or embrace other dear church members: please do not do so, we still need to show our love by keeping physical distance.

Family Camp at Mt. Cross

Our church’s beautiful camp, Mt. Cross, is offering COVID-safe Family Camp all summer. Check out the video and webpage to see how your family can book flexible days and spaces for a get-away camp experience only an hour’s drive away, in the Santa Cruz Mountains. https://www.mtcross.org/summercamp

If you want to try to book similar days together with others in the congregation, let Pastor know and we’ll communicate with one another amongst our families so we can share some time away!

Creation Justice

The Stewardship Committee and the Church Council have chosen for the second quarter mission the Creation Justice Ministries which has as its mission action to equip and mobilize Christians to protect, restore, and rightly share God’s creation. During this quarter, our congregation will have the opportunity to learn, reflect and put into action the many facets of this ministry. Information and guidance for this undertaking will be provided to individuals to implement in their daily lives.  Additionally, a committee will be formed to bring the suggestions of Creation Justice Ministries and form a path for our congregation to follow and explore the many ways in which we can better protect, restore and share God’s creation. Online Giving

Giving is an act of worship and an act of commitment; to the community of believers, and those in need. Not having cash or check on hand doesn’t have to hold you back from giving. Online giving is a safe and easy way to support the ministries of Advent Lutheran. We believe in the power of generosity, what it does for the individual doing the giving, and for the purpose that the giving supports. God is doing incredible things at Advent Lutheran and we thank you for being a part of it.
